SFJW3CPH: Aurora Hunter / 3 days
Departures from Copenhagen

Kangerlussuaq is one of the best areas to experience Aurora Borealis and the area is not bad for exploring during daylight hours either. This short tour gives you a unique opportunity to see the fabled Northern Lights as well as going on an Arctic Tundra Safari. We would also strongly recommend finding time to go dog sledging!

Revisiting the Ice Age

A visit to Kangerlussuaq is almost like time travelling - the visitor finds himself surrounded by a landscape similar to the ice age where prehistoric Musk Oxen are seen in front of the huge glaciers and the gigantic Inland Ice Cap which covers 85% of Greenland is never far away.

The location approx. 160km inland from the coast makes Kangerlussuaq one of the most weather stable destinations in Greenland - and with an often clear sky Kangerlussuaq is one of the best places in the world to experience Northern Light. During the last 10 winter seasons 99% of Arctic Adventure's clients who have stayed min. 4 nights in Kangerlussuaq have all experienced the amazing Aurora Borealis!

Splendid excursion possibilities

Kangerlussuaq is the best area in Greenland to spot Arctic wildlife. Close to the hotel you often see reindeer and musk oxen roam free!

No other destination in Greenland offers easier access to the Inland Ice Cap - here we drive by 4x4 vehicle directly to the ice!

Air Greenland flight to Kangerlussuaq. Meet and greet and check-in at Hotel Kangerlussuaq for information meeting and city tour of Kangerlussuaq to learn about the history of the village and the former American Base "Blue West 8".
