About Arctic Adventure ApS | ||||
The North Atlantic Specialist Arctic Adventure is the biggest organiser of international travel to Greenland as well as the only operator offering guaranteed weekly FIT departures combining Iceland & Greenland and tours to the Faroe Islands. Arctic Adventure has its own premises in central Copenhagen and is fully IATA licenced. The company was founded by Peter Morell in 1983 but even before this, he had for years been an active "North Atlantic Specialist". In 2003 the ownership of Arctic Adventure has been increased to include Mia Richter Nielsen and Lisbeth Andersen - an additional knowhow of 30 years in the International Travel business with the West Nordic countries as main area. No other North Atlantic tour operator is able to claim the same experience and know-how. Equally important are our more than 20 guides.
The Arctic Adventure Concept Our concept was from the beginning - and still is - to open up Greenland, Iceland and The Faroe Islands to visitors by operating guaranteed departures which are escorted by multilingual guides at the destinations and are open for individual bookings; travel agents should no longer have to worry about having to cancel tours because they are not able to gather numbers big enough for operation of a departure. We have a comprehensive serie of tours and departures to Greenland, Iceland and The Faroe Islands or combination tours of mentioned destinations, which are all guaranteed and open for individual bookings. The programmes vary from a few days stay at the airport hotels to round trips of longer duration visiting several and varied parts of these unique destinations. | Real but soft Adventure In spite of our company name "Arctic Adventure" no clients should be afraid of not being able to participate on our general programmes. All tours are real adventures when it comes to experiences, but the tours are also soft adventure programmes where no special demands are made to the client. We stay overnight at the most comfortable hotels offered (please see description on accommodation page) and the tours are planned so that everybody can join.
Destination Management Our head office is located in Copenhagen with same working hours as the rest of Europe. We are accustomed to the demands and the mentality of the marked. Furthermore we have destination offices in West-, South & East Greenland. This is especially important in Greenland where "being on the spot" is a must: Weather conditions and limited capacity can force changes to the programme of the travellers from hour to hour. Arctic Adventure is of course present in the main international airports Narsarsuaq and Kangerlussuaq, but also when travelling to the coastal cities our clients will always be able to get in contact with our staff or local representatives. Important Note It is important that all travelers realize that they are visiting one of the frontiers of the world. Even the most experienced tour operator or the best guides are not able to change the arctic weather conditions or replace the only boat or helicopter when technical problems occur. One day of bad weather or one tiny technical problem might disturb operations for several days. However in situations like this our staff will do their outmost to adjust all programmes the best possible way. All visitors should be aware of these special conditions and look at such interruptions - if they occur - as a part of the experience and a real "look into" everyday terms in the North Atlantic.
